Customer experiences of sewer flooding

Being flooded with sewage is one of the most distressing things that can happen to you in your home, yet this is a very real experience for thousands of households every year.

Together with Ofwat, we commissioned this research to understand the physical, emotional and psychological impact that sewer flooding has on victims. We’re also using this research to inform best practice across the water industry, to encourage wastewater companies to improve longer term communication, resolution and compensation
