Price setting
Once every five years, Ofwat sets the prices that water companies can charge for water and sewerage services. Representing the interests of customers in this process is one of our most important roles. Water companies must base any investment decisions on customers’ priorities. We also expect them engage with customers, including through research, consultation and working with local Consumer Challenge Groups, so that they understand what customers want in terms of investment and service, and deliver prices and service improvements that customer find acceptable.
