Connecting people with the water environment
We’ve always felt passionately about the environment, and that’s why we made it the focus of our first Committee Meeting in Wales on 23 February 2021.
At this meeting, we’ve invited a range of speakers to tell us more about the ways in which local communities are connecting with the water around them. In particular, we’ll be exploring the impact of excess rainfall on communities in Wales, and how residents have been actively engaged in projects that aim to minimise the risk of flooding and environmental impact. We also asked what water companies are doing to preserve our precious resources for generations to come.
Attendees were able to ask questions to our panel of speakers:
- Rebecca Clark, Director, Green Squirrel Community Interest Company
- Ian Titherington, Lead Drainage Engineer, Cardiff City Council
- Marina Lois, Local Resident, Greener Grangetown Project
We also provided an update on our review of affordability support schemes, which we’re currently undertaking on behalf of Defra and Welsh Government.
