If your business is in England

If you’re a water bill payer and operate a business, charity, or public sector organisation out of non-household premises, you can choose from any of the retailers licensed to provide your water and/or wastewater retail services.

Negotiating with your retailer could achieve several benefits like:

  • Lower price
  • Better customer service
  • Tailored services
  • Water efficiency
  • Consolidated suppliers and bills

Customers who pay a landlord for their water won’t be able to shop around.

If your business is in Wales

You must use at least 50 million litres of water a year to qualify to switch water retailer.

Business customers in Powys and Monmouthshire are no longer eligible to shop around for their water services, due to boundary re-alignment implemented in 2018 when Severn Trent Water bought Hafren Dyfrdwy (formerly Dee Valley Water).

Business customers based in Chester who were not previously able to switch suppliers are now eligible to choose who they want to supply their water and sewerage services.
