Business man with a quote

Businesses across the Midlands can discover how they might benefit from the new competitive water market in England at a free workshop in Birmingham on Wednesday, March 15.

The Consumer Council for Water will be supporting the Open Water opens in new window event where business owners can learn more about the changes which will create the largest market of its kind in the world from April 1, 2017.

About 1.2 million non-household customers – including businesses, charities and public sector organisations – will have the freedom to choose who supplies their water and wastewater retail services (billing, meter reading and customer services).

The changes could help businesses secure lower bills and services tailored to the needs of their company.

Speakers from Ofwat opens in new window, MOSL opens in new window, The Water Report opens in new window and CCWater will explain how the new market will work, the potential benefits and who will be there to support businesses as they enter the marketplace.

CCWater Chief Executive Tony Smith will also chair a Q&A session where attendees can put their questions to a panel of experts.

The workshop will run from 9.30am until just after noon at The Malmaison in The Mailbox, Birmingham. To register your attendance please visit the Open Water website opens in new window
