BUSINESSES across the south west of England can discover how they might benefit from the new retail water in England at a workshop in Bath on Friday, February 24.

CCWater will join the Open Water Partnership in hosting the free event, where guests will be able to find out more about how the new market will work and who will be eligible to switch when it launches on April 1.

The workshop is taking place at the Gainsborough Bath Spa Hotel from 9.30am until lunchtime.

Competition will give around 1.2 million businesses, charities and public sector organisations the freedom to choose who supplies their water and wastewater retail services (billing, meter reading and customer services).

Lower charges, simpler billing and tailored services could be among the potential benefits for customers.

The event will include a Q and A session chaired by CCWater’s Chief Executive Tony Smith where guests will be able to put their questions to the Open Water partners, including water industry regulator Ofwat, Market Operator Services Limited (MOSL) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)

You can find out more about the event and how to register your attendance at the Open Water website opens in new window.
