Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has announced £100m of additional investment over the next three years on a wide range of infrastructure projects across Wales, Herefordshire and Deeside. This is on top of the £1bn investment approved by the water industry regulator, Ofwat, for the period 2010-15.

The Consumer Council for Water welcomes the improvements to essential water and sewerage services that this £100m additional investment will deliver for water consumers.

Diane McCrea, Chair of the Consumer Council for Water Wales Committee, said: “It is great that this additional £100m is being invested for the benefit of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water’s customers.  We are very pleased to see this extra investment from Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water. Uniquely amongst water companies the company has no shareholders.  Customers will reap the benefits of this investment with further improvements to their water and wastewater services – which is great news.
