Severn Trent Water has listened to its customers and agreed to share the benefits of improved financial performance with them.

Today, the water company announced it would, over the next three years, bring forward £150m worth of investment in its water and sewerage networks.  The money will be spent on reducing leakage, reducing supply interruptions, improving sewers and upgrading treatment works.

Dame Yve Buckland, Chair of the Consumer Council for Water said:

We are pleased that Severn Trent is listening to us and its customers and is sharing the benefit of its improved financial performance in better services for customers. We will be expecting more companies to do the same as they announce their performance and profits over the coming weeks.
