CCW London and South East region represents consumers of Southern Water, Affinity Water South East (formerly Veolia), Portsmouth Water, South East Water, Thames Water, Affinity Water Central (formerly Veolia) and Sutton & East Surrey Water.
Our work in the London and South East region is led by Senior Policy Manager, Karen Gibbs.
Karen has been representing the interests of consumers in London and the South East since CCW was established in 2005 and before that worked in the predecessor consumer bodies and Ofwat. As well as leading our regional team, Karen heads up our Environment Policy Team which works to ensure that consumers’ interests and priorities are taken account of and reflected in water companies plans for managing water resources and droughts, dealing with wastewater and sewer flooding, providing a continuous supply of high quality tap water and for delivering their statutory and other environmental commitments. We also work to promote the value of water and encourage people to use it efficiently and in doing so encourage people to choose to drink tap water.
Karen and her team work with Consumer Advocates. They are a customer of at least one of the water companies in the London and South East region and their work is focused on the services provided by water companies in this area.
