The Consumer Council for Water Wales is inviting members of the public to its next meeting at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff on Monday 12 July. The committee will be looking at how water companies deal with customers’ complaints, and will discuss water quality in Wales.

The Consumer Council for Water would like to hear from customers of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and Dee Valley about any aspect of the service from either company. Representatives from both water companies will be on hand to respond.

Diane McCrea, Chair of the Wales Committee of the Consumer Council for Water, said: “We know that the quality of drinking water is very important to consumers in Wales.  During the meeting we will review water companies’ performance of drinking water quality standards over the past year following the publication of the Drinking Water Inspectorate’s report on water quality in Wales (12th July).  Consumers will want assurance that water companies are doing everything they can to ensure that tap water in Wales delivers day in, day out, and remains at a high quality.

“The Committee will also discuss the results of its annual assessments of companies’ complaint and debt management procedures. We want to see that companies are doing everything they can to improve their complaints and debt management services for customers.

“Holding our meeting in public is one way in which we can hear from local consumers, enabling them to challenge companies to address these concerns, and take meaningful actions to satisfy them.”
The meeting will run from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Monday 12 July in the Japan room of the Wales Millennium Centre, Bute Place, Cardiff CF10 5AL.
Customers who would prefer to speak in Welsh are encouraged to do so, but please let us know ahead of time so that we can provide translation.
